The Garden Market, will kick off on November 21 and run throughout the summer months into May on Wednesday afternoons from 3 to 7pm.
It will have a focus on locally produced, grown and made products, from within a 200 kilometre radius of Warrnambool.
The market will include organic and sustainably grown fruit and vegetables.
Warrnambool Community Garden convenor Julie Eagles said the organisation had joined forces with Merri Banks Market Garden to run the new weekly event.
“Nick Kelson (from Merri Banks Market Garden) will increase his production by 25 per cent for the market,” she said.
“We are interested in local produce that is plastic free, low waste and sustainable.”
Expressions of interest are open for anyone who might be interested in hosting a stall at the market.
“We are encouraging a younger demographic to shop locally, shop seasonally and it also provides an opportunity to socialise,” Ms Eagles said.
She said from February there would also be guest chef sessions and live music at the market.
Overall 34 groups, clubs or organisations shared $76,153 in funding for initiatives or projects as part of the council’s community development fund.
It is an annual grant program that was established by council in 1999.
