The Emmanuel College students joined 4500 runners participating in Connor’s Run in Melbourne on Sunday, an annual fundraiser for paediatric brain cancer research.
The pair both ran in memory of Warrnambool girl Pippa Rea who lost her battle with brain cancer in March 2015, aged 11.
It was the first year Pippa’s brother Patrick and friend Flynn had taken part in the event.
Team organiser Virginia Rea said it was a wonderful event to be part of.
“Patrick and Flynn enjoyed an inspirational day at Connor’s Run,” she said. “For the sixth year in a row the sun shone down on Melbourne.”
Ms Rea said the event raised more than one million dollars for paediatric brain cancer research with
Pippa’s team raising over $5,300.
