A poll carried out by The Standard has South Warrnambool onballer Josh Saunders as the favourite for the Maskell Medal. Saunders attracted 30.67 per cent of the vote.
Koroit centreman Liam Hoy was close on Saunders’ heels, attracting 30.06 per cent of the vote.
Warrnambool’s Dan Weymouth was third favourite with 17.18 per cent.
Rounding out the top five was Port Fairy’s Sandy Robinson (14.72) and Koroit’s Tim McIntyre (7.36).
Favourite for the open grade netball best and fairest is Cobden midcourter Sophie Barr, who won 36.99 per cent of the poll vote.
She was followed by Port Fairy’s Carly Watson (24.66), Koroit’s Jess O’Connor (20.55), Warrnambool’s Amy Wormald (12.33) and Camperdown’s Brooke Richardson (5.48).
The count will take place at City Memorial Bows Club from 12 noon.
