The club’s members got the opportunity to feature in the main Auskick match at half-time of the Collingwood-Greater Western Sydney second semi-final after program director Josh Walters and Paul Looney expressed interest in filling a spot.
Walters, who found out last Sunday they had been given the green light to appear on the finals stage, said it was a good opportunity for the club and the kids participating.
“It’s great for the kids to get down and play and also see an exciting final,” he said.
“It dosen’t happen often to see Greater Western Sydney play and its good we could be lucky enough to get a chance to go down to Melbourne.”
Walters said the kids were excited and eager to hit the home of football in front of an expected 90,000-plus crowd.
“Most of them are under 10’s between the ages of 7-10 and they are jumping out of their skin to head out on the ‘G,” he said.
