The 76-year-old woman was travelling east on Raglan Parade when a motorbike failed to give way at the Kelp Street intersection and collided with her Huyandai sedan about 1pm.
"I was coming along the highway towards Kmart and this motorbike rider just came out of nowhere," she said.
"I didn't have time to do anything. I've never been in an accident before, I was so shocked."
The woman said the motorbike rider pulled over on the side of the road and approached her.
She said the man did not take his helmet off and they exchanged details before he left the scene.
"A couple that witnessed the accident also stopped and when they saw that I was alright and that he wasn't hurt, they left," she said.
"I tried to call the number to sort out my insurance but I don't think it is the right number."
The woman said she didn't take down the man's registration number.
"I was in so much shock that I didn't really think about it," she said.
"I've never had an accident and I've never had a claim on my insurance. I'm pretty shaken up and I've got a health problem so this has definitely taken its toll on me."
Warrnambool police Senior Constable Luke Hunter said there appeared to be some confusion about the details obtained from the offending driver.
"We are seeking any witnesses that may be able to assist us in finding the male driver," he said.
"No one is in trouble, we just think there has been a bit of confusion, and we would like to speak with the driver about the incident.
“The elderly woman is going through insurance, as there was moderate front end damage to her vehicle, and that is difficult to do without the right details."
Anyone with information should call Warrnambool police Senior Constable Luke Hunter on 5560 1333 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
