The Power won the under 14.5s football after taking out the 13 and under netball earlier this morning.
The final score was Kolora Noorat 6.17 (53) to Merrivale 4.3 (27).
Coaches Paul Dunn and Phil Beasley were impressed with the win.
“We probably tried to kick ourselves out of it a little bit,” Dunn said.
“We scored 17 points. It was a battle but we got there in the end.”
Beasley said Henry Kenna and Ryley Hutchins were standouts for Kolora-Noorat.
“Harry Stewart across the backline was also terrific but it turned out in the finish to be a really good team effort,” he said.
“Everyone done their bit. It was good to come away with the win after kicking pretty badly early. We hung in there for long enough and started to get a few goals and we were on our way.”
Best on ground medal winner Henry said it was a great match.
“We started on the back foot, but we came back after the second half and ended up wining by 20 or so,” he said.
Henry, who played on the ball for the duration of the match, said he was pleased with his game.
“It was one of my better ones,” he said.
He’s looking forward to the celebrations after the win.
“We’ll go to the sheds tonight and hang out with my mates.”
