Five sets of sisters will feature across Merrivale’s 15 and under and 13 and under netball teams at Reid Oval on Saturday.
Ashlyn and Jayde Kent, Tatum and Luka Cassidy, Lilli and Mary McLean and Ashlan and Paiyton Noonan will be split across the two grades.
Lily and Annabel Johnson will play together in the 15 and under decider.
Merrivale 15 and under coach Jane Fish said it was a special moment for the girls’ families.
The Tigers will play Old Collegians in the 15 and under grade and Kolora-Noorat in the 13 and unders.
Fish said her team featured five players – Sarah Moloney, Ashlyn Kent, Ella Johnstone, Tahlia Walker and Marlee Thompson – who were new to netball this season.
“I am pleased with the girls. Five were brand new to the sport,” she said.
“A lot had played basketball and come across.
“As the season has gone they’ve gotten a lot better.
“They’re outstanding athletes and good sports people, they were just getting to know the rules.
“They are standing up and playing well.”
