Principal Peter Morgan said a small number of invitations had been issued to representatives of community groups as well as staff, students and the college's board of management members.
"It will be a small, low-key function on Tuesday next week from 2pm at the Rice Campus on Canterbury Road beneath the library," he said, when contacted by The Standard.
"It will be deliberately low key. This is just one step in a much larger journey.
"We are not aiming to claim the spotlight for Emmanuel College. We are not after publicity. This is being done because we believe it's the right thing to do.”
Mr Morgan, support group In Good Faith chairman Paul Holdway and the college’s captains will speak at the unveiling.
"We have had a strong response to the initiative, it's been overwhelmingly positive," Mr Morgan said.
