The 17-year-old wore the hi-vis sub vest for all but 15 minutes of last year’s grand final win against Old Collegians.
He said this year he wanted to standout for a different reason.
"It made me more hungry to cement my spot and play a full season, that was my goal," he said.
"So I tried to work on my skills and I worked on my leadership skills and act as a leader and try to say more even though I am a junior.”
Hoare said it was a valuable experience to be part of a senior premiership at 16.
He said it would hold him in good stead for Saturday’s preliminary final against the Warriors.
“It just helps to know what the intensity is like (in finals),” he said.
“I was sub for the other finals as well which really helped me a fair bit.
“We’re all switched on and the energy is up because we know we’re in the grand final if we win. But we aren’t getting too confident because we know it will be a tough game.”
