Jason Robinson arrived at Leura Oval at the start of the season, eager to play alongside good mate Jack Williams.
They have known each other for three years and were teammates at Werribee.
“My best mate is Jack and (coach) Phil Carse gave him a call in the pre-season and asked if anyone was interested in coming to play,” Robinson said.
“It’s been really good. It’s a very welcoming club and in pre-season I got to know the boys.
“I’ve attended a few functions and the Camperdown Cup together.
“I am enjoying the success we’re having together which is something we haven’t had for a while.”
The Werribee-based electrician started the season in the state league before switching his full attention to Camperdown. He will run out for the Magpies’ qualifying final against Port Fairy at Cobden Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
Robinson believes their 16-2 first-half goal rout against the Seagulls in round 18 proved what they’re capable of.
“If we produce our best footy, like we did in the first half last week, there’s not many teams that can get near us,” he said.
Robinson said he was happy with his form in the lead up to finals.
“I copped an injury against Port Fairy earlier in the year and that didn’t help my cause mid-year but in the back half I’ve felt I am where I need to be,” he said.
