Mermaids lost game one of the Big V grand final series by six points to the Casey Cavaliers in front of a home crowd on Saturday night.
Star Amy Wormald said the side was positive as it prepared to travel to Melbourne for game two and three this weekend.
"We are ready to fight back and get the win," she said.
"So we have all regrouped and come together as a group but we haven't done anything different this week.”
If the Mermaids are to win they will have to do it without the aid of a home crowd it had for game one.
But Wormald said she did not see it as a major concern.
“Their stadium is quite big, a lot bigger than ours. And their grand stand is quite far away from the court,” she said.
“So the crowd is really quite removed and it won't be as good as the atmosphere was in Warrnambool.”
