The Timboon Demons star polled 34 votes showing why she is regarded one of the best defenders and playing in the competition.
She finished eight votes clear of Nirranda’s Joanna Couch.
Marr, who delivered a very modest and humble speech, gave herself very little praise for taking out the A grade honour.
"A bit of a shock," she said.
"Last year was lucky and this year is a fluke too, it is just a pure strike of luck.
Marr’s team mates, coach and opponents in the room on the night gave a very different view.
After the defender was presented with the award she was flocked and congratulated, highlighting how respected she was within the league.
She then became the talk of the room for her effort in winning back-to-back best and fairests.
The 28-year-old said she did not feel much had changed for her on the court this season.
But she said she was able to hit the ground running from round one, something she could not do last year.
"I don't think I could compare really. I have no idea what I do on the court," she said.
"Last season I came back from having a baby the year before.
"Maybe my body was a bit better at the start of the year where halfway through last year I think I had a bit of a slump.”
Marr, who played the full 18 out of a possible 18 games for the Demons, was a key reason for her team making finals.
And she will again be a player to watch as Timboon Demons play in Saturday’s preliminary final against Dennington where they will hope to book a spot in this year’s grand final.
Couch, who was also a strong performer on the court for the Blues to finish behind Marr, was also praised as a deserving runner-up.
The Nirranda centre polled strongly throughout the night, but just could not bridge the gap between her and Marr.
Fortunately for Couch her team has already booked a place in the grand final, which could see her finish the season with a premiership.
Russells Creek’s Stacey Dunkley also produced a very consistent season to finish third.
Dunkley polled 24 votes to end her season on a high, despite the Roos being knocked out in the first final.
