Timboon Demons midfielder Couch, 22, and Russells Creek ruck rover Brady, 21, polled 18 votes to pip joint runners-up Old Collegians’ Jamie McKenzie and Dennington’s Mark Shrubb by one vote.
“All I wanted to do was play with my mates,” Brady, who returned to football after three years off, said.
“I didn’t care about the results I just had a great time with my friends.”
Couch said he was shocked but pleased to get the joint victory.
“I wasn’t sure I would get up after I got the invite on Sunday,” he said.
“But now that I have come it’s a really good surprise.”
Brady played 13 games for the Kangaroos this season, while Couch featured in 14 matches for the Demons.
