The sounds of heels twirling and clicking on wooden floorboards will fill Warrnambool’s Old Royal Hotel once again.

In less than a fortnight the Fairy Street site will be home to a Latin dancing fundraiser for the city’s Standing Tall program.
Dancers of every description are being invited to strap on their shoes and try some moves for the inaugural event to be held at 7.30pm on September 8.
The event is the brainchild of Standing Tall mentor Vivian Carter, who has been Latin dancing for more than five years.
“I’m in my first year as a mentor and I can already see Standing Tall is such a great program for the community,” she said. “I really hope everyone gets behind the event to raise money for such a good cause.”
Warrnambool Salsa Latin dance instructor Diana Montes-Cooper said the event was for all community members.
“There’ll be free dance lessons on the night and pizza will be delivered to keep the energy up. Join us on the dance floor or just come for some drinks and supper and support a good cause.”
The event will be held at the Middle Island Medical Clinic on the corner of Timor and Fairy Streets.
