Forth said the year was a still a success because she was able to give some future Warriors’ players a chance in the top grade.
“We had a lot of injury this year and we brought five juniors up to blood through the seniors,” she said after the 54-34 defeat to Timboon Demons on Sunday.
“So coming from not making finals last year and retaining players and having three to four injuries and only playing with the line-up we have now for four weeks. I think we have done well.”
Forth mentioned 17 and under league best and fairest Chloe McKenzie, who has been playing in the Warriors’ starting seven for the past four weeks, Cassidy Waller and Monique Forbes as players who had shown promising signs from their introduction to A grade netball.
Timboon Demons coach Kelly Gowland said her side would need to refocus in preparation for next Saturday’s preliminary final.
“We need to have a bit of confidence coming into next week against Dennington,” the playing coach said.
“We have only played them once this year, which we had a draw, so hopefully that will be a another nice close contest.
“They’re really physical so it will be a different type of game that we will have to prepare differently for.”
Gowland said her side would need to prepare mentally for the challenge that Dennington would bring to next Saturday’s final.
