That is why she installed the help of Hampden league powerhouses Koroit and Port Fairy to test her team during its bye in the first week of finals.
Burt said she opted away from the Dogs’ regular Tuesday training sessions in favour of practice matches against the Saints and Seagulls to “iron out the kinks” ahead of a semi-final clash against Nirranda on Saturday.
“I was super impressed with how we did,” she said.
“I was able to test some different styles and team positions, which shows I now have more options to look at if I need to.”
Burt said the varying styles of both clubs allowed her to really test the full strength of her side ahead of an expected high-paced and physical encounter against the Blues at Mack Oval on Saturday.
