This weekend, the lure of this beloved double act is about to increase.
Great Northern Brewing Company is donating a keg of its beverage to pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales and regional Victoria as part of its Let It Pour initiative.
All beer sold from the kegs, which will be on tap from Friday through to Sunday, will be donated to the Let It Pour cause, which raises money for drought relief.
The Commercial Hotel Koroit, Flying Horse Bar and Brewery, Mickey Bourke’s Koroit Hotel, Rafferty’s Tavern, The Whalers Hotel, Water City Memorial Bowls Club, Hotel Warrnambool and Warrnambool RSL Club are the south-west venues who are taking part in the initiative.
Darren Smith from the Commercial Hotel Koroit said he was thrilled to play a part.
“We are a farming community and this is a great way for not only us as a pub, but also for our patrons, to show our support for those farmers north of us that have been hard hit by drought,” Mr Smith said.
“At the moment, drought is not an issue for our farmers down here but there is always some sort of challenge farmers have to overcome.
“We are happy to take up any chance to support the work farmers do.”
Mr Smith said the Commercial Hotel Koroit will also be giving five dollars to drought relief from every parma sold on Saturday night at the pub.
