The all-rounder, who was named the 2016-17 Warrnambool and District Cricket Association’s player of the year, said top grade glory was the sole reason he returns to Avery’s Paddock for a third season.
“I want to win the premiership,” former Sri Lankan junior international said.
“I’m looking forward to giving 100 per cent for it. I want to be a match winner this time and I have been doing my homework here in Sri Lanka.
“I hope the guys are really excited and focused for the coming season as I believe if we play as a team we will be able to win the trophy this year.”
Perera played 13 matches last season, claiming 22 wickets and making 284 runs at an average of 18.93.
The opening batsman/bowler will arrive in the south-west in October for the 2018-19 season.
