South Warrnambool footballer Fraser Marris will play for the Ballarat school against St Bernard’s College on Friday.
Marris, 16, said he was humbled to be included at such a young age.
“It’s been great being one of two year 10s in the side,” he said.
“They (the older players) have made us young boys feel really welcome and a part of it. It’s been great being able to play with such a highly-talented team that has a great culture, making me feel a part of it.”
The 173-centimetre left-footed small forward said the St Pat’s program – the team is into its 10th straight Herald Sun Shield decider – was impressive.
“It’s a strong region that has attracted many talented footballers,” he said.
Marris, who is also a handy golfer, made his Hampden league senior debut earlier this year.
