Performance: Hard work and talent is proving to be a heady mix for Portland five-piece band Since Tuesday.

Band members Trish Thompson (vocals, ukulele), Maddi Cram (guitar), Beau Dixon (drums), Sophie von Tunk (keyboard, harmonies) and Cass Chellis (bass) may all be teenagers, but have built a reputation as an accomplished group of musicians. This skill on stage has helped them amass a swag of awards, including winning the contemporary band section of the Warrnambool Eisteddfod from 2014-16.

They will take further award-winning form into their show at The Loft in Warrnambool tonight, having recently won the 2018 Mount Gambier Battle of the Bands.

Trish Thompson said the band is looking forward to its first gig at The Loft.

“We haven’t really played that much in Warrnambool,” she said.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun, it would be good to establish ourselves in Warrnambool and do a few more shows.”

The Loft gig is the latest in what has been a busy live schedule for Since Tuesday, with shows in Portland, Heywood and Port Fairy helping to grow their fan base.

With some band members in their VCE year, recording has been put on hold.

Thompson said once these studies are complete, the band was keen to go back into the recording studio and add to their catalogue, which includes their self-titled debut EP, which was released in 2017.

Supporting Since Tuesday will be south-west band Tiosav Joy, who have released a new single, Ododean.
