The hotel team was one of many groups who jumped into action following the St Patrick’s Day fires, delivering meals to families in the region who were hit by the fires.
They want to raise money for drought-affected farmers and will hold an event at the hotel on Saturday, August 18.
Staff member Jordy Muller said the idea came about following the Parma for a Farmer drive that is sweeping the nation but thought they would be able to raise more money by hosting a one-off event at the hotel.
The fundraiser includes live music by WILLNKO, an auction, raffles, drink specials and more with proceeds to be donated to the drought relief fund.
Ms Muller said she was surprised how quickly the event had gained momentum with people keen to attend and donate items for the auction and raffles.
She hopes to raise more than $1000 but said she had “no idea” what the final tally would be.
Ms Muller encouraged local businesses who wanted to donate goods or services to get in touch by visiting the hotel or calling them on 5565 1242. Cash donations can also be made at the hotel. For more information go to the Allansford Hotel Facebook page.
The 18-and-over event begins at 8.30pm. Entry is by gold coin donation.
