The Saints’ top team competes in WDCA division two but the decision by Nirranda to pull out of division one opened a return to the main grade. Koroit players, committee and club members met on Monday night to make a final decision of whether the club should advance.
Club president Jimmy Langdon confirmed the Saints’ best team would compete in division two for the 2018-19 season.
“We have decided not to go up, the school of thought was that we are not ready just yet,” Langdon said.
“Our aim for the next 12 months is to plan, train and play to division one standards.
“It is still very much an aim of the club to have our best team in division one.”
The WDCA executive will meet in the coming weeks to discuss its next move.
