Among the many facets of the sheep industry on show at this year’s Sheepvention were wool handling, sheep dog and lamb burger competitions. Many competitions involve junior sections as part of the event’s efforts to encourage more young people to get involved in farming. But Sheepvention involves a lot more than sheep with the event’s president Will Kinghorn saying it offers something for everyone in agriculture. It’s a showcase not only new technology but also for encouraging the inquiring minds that create that new technology. The children’s activities included workshops on coding, lego engineering and robotics.
