For years the 17-year-old had been Cobden’s emerging goalie with little opposition for her spot in the circle.
Until the Finch sisters – Emily and Jaymie – crossed over from Camperdown for season 2018.
Hutt then had two options.
Sit back and risk losing her spot or embrace the challenge. She chose the latter.
“I am having to fight for my spot, which is a good thing though,” she said.
“So I've just been trying to work on different things myself including my fitness.
“And I've been trying to step up a lot more this year as well.”
The young Bomber isn’t only embracing the challenge, she said she was also enjoying having the sisters as teammates.
Hutt said she believed the trio could form a strong team in attack as the Bombers look to go deep in the finals.
"It's great to play with two different goalies as they both play so different," she said.
“I've been playing with Emily more than Jaymie and we are communicating a lot better now as Emily is a bit quiet.
"As a goaling combination, Emily and I have been working on lots of set plays and combinations to make our job a lot easier and we are improving as we go on.
“But I like playing with Jaymie because she's a great leader and helps me out a lot."
The attacking trio needs to perform at its best on Saturday against reigning premier Koroit in a first-versus-fourth clash.
"Koroit are always a tough team and they will put up a great fight," Hutt said.
"Koroit have a lot of experienced players so we just need to be smarter than them and be patient in our plays.
"But I'm very excited and ready for a tough game."
