UPDATE 11am: Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Asenjo said the truck was travelling south when it rolled into a paddock.
“It was carrying 38,000 litres of unleaded petrol,” he said.
“One tanker has ruptured and is currently spilling 4000 litres of petrol out onto a paddock. It is a significant hazardous scene.
“Police and emergency services are assessing the scene.
“It is our intention to decant the petrol from the petrol tanker and have heavy haulage move in to remove the tanker from the paddock.”
UPDATE 10.55am:
Fuel is spilling onto the road and Glenfyne-Brucknell is closed to traffic on both ends.
The driver in his 30s has been transported to Warrnambool hospital in a stable condition with minor cuts.
There was no other vehicles involved.
EARLIER: A B-double truck has rolled over on the Glenfyne-Brucknell Road near Timboon.
Port Campbell Police sergeant Sally Slingsby said the truck was carrying diesel and unleaded petrol when it rolled over just after the turn off to Moreys Road about 9.15am on Thursday.
Police have set up traffic controls in the area to divert vehicles as crews work to remove the truck.
The driver of the truck has been transported to hospital. The condition of the driver is unknown.
