Vice president Murray Swayn said the teenage duo had shone in the six-round competition’s opening three meetings.
Hookway will compete in the KA4 junior heavy class and Johnstone will race in the KA4 junior lite section.
“Daniel is very, very strong and could even win this weekend,” he said.
“He’s been a podium placegetter the past few meetings and he’s racing extremely well so he’ll be one to keep an eye on and will be there at the pointy end of the season.
“Jaxon has performed very well throughout the series. He’ll mix it with the really good guys from Melbourne.”
Swayn said the series also included a lot of family teams. He races as does his teenage son Lachlan.
Drivers will be split over 13 classes at the two-day meeting.
Swayn said the club had received 186 entries on Wednesday afternoon, giving it hope they would exceed 200 by deadline last night.
