A Warrnambool drug dealer already on appeal bail after being jailed for two months for trafficking has been remanded in custody until July 30.
Shane Young, 29, of Timor Street, Warrnambool unsuccessfully applied for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday.
He has been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and breaching court orders.
Magistrate Cynthia Toose said Mr Young had not provided sufficient evidence to reach the exceptional circumstances standard so he could be granted bail.
She noted his prior history, the seriousness of the offending, that he was currently on bail, and said that if charges were proven he was likely to receive a custodial sentence.
Mr Young said he didn't think his partner would cope at home on her own with their three young children if he was refused bail.
"Besides that I don't have much (reason to be bailed)," he said.
Warrnambool police Senior Constable Peter Hunter said that Mr Young was the passenger of a vehicle that was intercepted driving along Raglan Parade about 10pm on Saturday night.
He said a search of the accused found a pair of knuckle dusters in his left pocket as well as prescription medications concealed inside a cigarette packet.
Senior Constable Hunter said the "improvised taser" was located on the inside of the passenger seat door.
He said at the time of the offending Mr Young was accompanied by two of his children, who were taken home by police following their father's arrest.
Mr Young was transported to Warrnambool police station, where he told police he had got the prescription medication from his cousin and had the pair of knuckle dusters as he "liked the shape" and intended to turn them into an art sculpture.
He denied being the owner of the cattle prodder.
Senior Constable Hunter said police were concerned about Mr Young's history of possessing prohibited weapons.
He was placed on a 12-month community corrections order with conditions he do 120 hours of community work - none of which has been completed.

A 29-YEAR-OLD man will appear in court on Monday morning charged with drug and weapons offences after being caught with a cattle prodder.
Warrnambool police Sergeant Jo Wastell said the man was a passenger in a car pulled over at the weekend by highway patrol unit officers.
The driver tested positive to drugs.
The passenger was found to be in possession of 10 tablets of prescription medication.
He admitted to having a set of knuckle dusters and was found with what police described as an “improved taser” - which was a cattle prodder.
The man was arrested, interviewed, charged and remanded in custody because of his extensive prior court appearances.
He will appear in court for a bail/remand hearing on Monday.
