Warrnambool has woken to a balmy morning with temperatures sitting at 5.2 degrees at 7am on Friday.

It comes off the back of the city’s coldest morning in three years the day before.

But other parts of the region weren’t so lucky with Casterton (-1.5 degrees), Dartmoor (-1.1) and Hamilton (-0.9) still sitting below zero.

A top of 13 degrees is forecast for the south-west, with areas of frost and patchy fog in the morning and light winds throughout the day.
