Selling agent Peter Herbert from Homeseeka Real Estate said stage one, which had 24 lots, was 90 per cent sold and stage two was in the planning stage, with about 30 lots expected to be available.
He said some of the businesses which had purchased sites included a roofing company, three building businesses, a concreting business and other companies from the retail and repairs, automotive and logistics sectors.
He said other people had bought “on spec and will build sheds and find a tenant”.
South West Sheds and Homes is celebrating its one year anniversary at the site this month.
It has also opened up a new business over the past year.
Owner and director Mick Macklin said he was positive about moving premises.
“It’s been really good,” he said. “We are glad we made the move.”
He said the business had chosen the new industrial estate after outgrowing its former Walsh Road premises.
“We were after more space,” Mr Macklin said.
“We’ve now got room for more displays. Business has been good, we’ve got busier if anything.”
Mr Macklin said there had been good exposure being the first business at the new industrial estate.
“It will be good to see some neighbours,” he said.
“Horne Road seems to be really busy. It’s a bit of a shortcut around the town.
“It’s been a real positive to come out here. There is more traffic coming to us.”
He said other businesses from the industrial estate on the other side of the city were interested in the Gateway Business Park.
“Being nice, new and fresh makes it more inviting,” Mr Macklin said.
He has also opened up a storage facility at the site.
“That opened up about three months ago,” he said.
“We 12 units and they are almost full. We will also look to expand that side of the business.”
South West Roofing has a storage shed which is adjacent to Mr Macklin’s site.
There is 60-hectares of industrial land at the business park.
