The bank has distributed the cash through grants and sponsorship to different community groups.
Community Bank director Ann Cunningham said over the years the organisation had provided a $10,000 donation to the upgrades at Apex Park and also contributed to the building of the Cobden and District Health Service’s gymnasium.
She said the bank had also supported Camperdown’s Rock the Clock, the Cobden Spring Festival and various agricultural shows.
“Fifty per cent of out profits go directly to the community,” she said.
“Each month we look at the grant applications.
“The grant application process is decided by the directors who are all voluntary positions. So it’s local people making decisions of where the money goes locally.”
Ms Cunningham said the bank strongly supported the Cobden Football and Netball Club and the Camperdown Football Netball Club.
“We recognised the huge contribution football and netball clubs make to the community, especially small communities,” she said.
“It’s not just about keeping people active. They also help keep people connected.”
Ms Cunningham said the bank had also sponsored road safety program for high school students in Camperdown.
The bank celebrated its commitment to the community last week with a free afternoon tea, a sausage sizzle and entertainment by Luke Bourchier.
There was also a dinner which included past and present directors, staff, shareholders and community members.
Community Bank chairman James Green congratulated the volunteers and staff on their achievements.
"We have been able to achieve $500,000 with 3000 customers across the two branches, imagine what we can do if the majority of our region had all their banking products with us,” he said.
