Dr Hansen, of the Latham’s Snipe Project, will speak about the amazing life of the migratory water bird, and the project’s efforts which focus on the Port Fairy area, breeding areas in Hokkaido, Japan and the migration patterns along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway.
She will also share details from a recent trip to Japan where the team learnt about snipe research and monitoring in Hokkaido, and participated in snipe surveys around Tomakomai.
