The commanding 10-0 victory showed the Rangers did not muck around, but Rantall said they mixed things up.
The positional changes and getting game time into players was an experiment she believed paid off.
"We changed it up a bit and it worked well,” she said.
"We had three in the back line, so three defenders with one in between them and the midfield.
"And we had one or two players play in different positions, which it’s good to try that in these games.
"We shared it around and everyone got a go and we subbed a lot on the weekend.
“We even subbed off players that don't normally get subbed off."
Rantall deemed the changes, that allowed Warrnambool to dominate the match, a success.
And Rantall said they could again be used on Sunday.
"It worked well so we didn’t change at half-time,” she said.
"I don't know if we’ll keep it that way, I didn’t talk to the coach about it.
I assume we’ll keep it the same as it did work well.
"If it doesn't work we can change it again.
