It is the fourth in a series of roundtables which have been held across the state which have attracted up to 250 people.
The aim is to identify renewable energy and energy-efficiency projects with the potential to be successfully established in the south-west, to assist local businesses to reduce the cost of energy, and to create jobs and economic growth.
The event will have a strong focus on the food and fibre sectors, heavy engineering and tourism.
The Victorian Renewable Energy Advocate Simon Corbell will facilitate the roundtable which will include a range of speakers.
Deakin University Warrnambool campus director Alistair McCosh said the campus was keen to host the forum.
“The energy sector will play an important part of shaping the future of the Great South Coast region,” Mr McCosh said.
Tuesday evening’s program will include local case studies and an update on State Government initiatives, while Wednesday morning’s program will include presentations on energy options and solutions as well as a Victorian New Energy Technology Showcase.
