For the first time in the history of the AFL National Inclusion Carnival, the final round of competition was played as a curtain-raiser to the highly anticipated Hawthorn versus Gold Coast match at Launceston’s UTAS Stadium.

The Inclusion Carnival brought together male footballers with an intellectual disability from across Australia to Tasmania, where they participated in a round-robin competition, education sessions, and delivered football clinics to support schools in the region.
Tasmanian players Jordan Irwin and Dylan Pace were thankful to have the opportunity to be involved.
“It’s been good fun, it’s been a really good week,” Pace said.
Irwin said he loved the experience of playing, especially as the national carnival had been held in Tasmania for the first time. He hoped to have more opportunities to play in the future.
Both players said they would “definitely recommend” getting involved in the carnival to any footballers with a learning disability.
The carnival began on June 18, with the final match played on June 23.
