Nabbout is nursing a dislocated right shoulder, suffered in Australia's 1-1 draw with Denmark.

But he begs to differ with coach Bert van Marwijk's diagnosis that the injury ends his tournament.

And with some reason: he sustained the same injury in May and kept playing.

Nabbout's initial dislocation happened on his starting debut for Urawa Red Diamonds in the J-League.

After a repeat in the Socceroos' Group C clash with the Danes, Nabbout is hoping for a similar scenario.

"They say the second time is a little bit quicker," he said.

"I will be right ... it's fine now, there is no pain.

"I'll start rehabbing it and see how we go from there.

"When I landed on it, it was in an awkward position and popped out - nothing I haven't felt before."

After his injury in Japan, Nabbout kept playing for another 10 minutes. Then, it took him just over a week to resume running.

But the Socceroos have just four days before their next fixture, against Peru on Tuesday in Sochi.

"Hopefully this time being the second time, it recovers a little bit quicker and we can go again," he said.

"Obviously it was disappointing.

"There were a lot of emotions running through me after the game

"Let's just see how it settles down in the next few days and we'll go from there.

"I have always got positive thoughts on my mind. Hopefully if I rehab it quick enough, anything can happen, I rehabbed pretty quick from the last one."

Nabbout has started both World Cup games in Russia and while yet to get on the scoresheet has provided intense forward pressure with relentless running.

"I was doing well. I was putting them under pressure," he said of his performance against the Danes.

"I did my job, I thought I did it exactly how the coach wanted me to.

"Unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be."
