It’s not often Finn O’Sullivan will choose between his two beloved sports but he will have to do that if he is selected in both the School Sport Victoria under 12 football and basketball teams.

O’Sullivan has already secured his spot in the football team and is in the final stages of qualifying for the basketball side which will represent the state at the School Sport Australia Championships from August 11.
If the Warrnambool Seahawk, Saints footballer and St Patrick’s Koroit student makes the basketball side he will have to make a tough decision on which sport he plays at the national championships.
“If I have to choose what sport I want to represent I will pick basketball,” the 11-year-old said. “But I have a spot in the football team if I don’t make the basketball.”
Representing Victoria will be the first stepping stone in O’Sullivan’s journey to achieving his sporting goals.
“I want to make one a team in either the Big Bash, NBL or AFL,” the Toronto Raptors, Adelaide 36ers and Hawthorn fan said.
“If I do make it I want it to be a Melbourne-based side so I’m closer to home and able to get back home and visit my family.”
His family won’t decide the future of where his sporting career takes him but he can thank his parents, Hampden Football Netball League life members Stacey and Nick, for beginning it.
“I got in to sport thanks to my mum and dad,” he said.
“I started with basketball before I moved into footy and then cricket. I started by playing at home and then I played domestic for my club and it has just kept progressing on from there.”
