Anthony Hunt, 52, of Hoddle Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to possessing cannabis.
He was placed on a bond until December 18.
Police said that on June 13 Hunt and girlfriend Penny Simon were at the Warrnambool police station.
They argued and Ms Simon told police officers that Hunt had hidden his stash of cannabis in bushes outside a nearby shoe shop.
Officers went to the bushes and located the cannabis, before arresting and charging Hunt.
Hunt has a long history of prior court appearances but was particularly proud of not having any drug offences - until now.
He and Ms Simon have called police in disputes involving each other more than 50 times in recent years.
