Palisade Ports, which has bought 50 per cent of Port of Portland that it did not already own from Hastings Funds Management, said Mr Cooper had resigned to seek other opportunities.
Mr Cooper had been CEO of the port for the past eight years.
He was replaced by Greg Tremewen who recently left the business after being the chief financial officer for five years.
Palisade Ports, which is owned by Australian superannuation funds and invests in infrastructure projects, said it aimed to grow the Port of Portland’s business.
