By 7am the mercury had moved up to .9, with the apparent temperature about -3.
Mortlake was -.2 at 5am but by 6.30am had risen to 2 before plunging back to -.8 at 7am with an apparent temperature of -3.2.
Port Fairy was 3.3 at 7am and the Portland airport a balmy 4.9 at 7am.
