“The more exposure our younger players get to senior football the better they will be in seasons to come,” Twaddle said after the Eagles’ recorded their ninth-straight loss off the season in a 5.6 (36) to 11.6 (72) defeat to Hamilton on Saturday.
“Whatever happens this year for us if we can get more games into these kids it will benefit the club in the future. We know once we get 25-30 games into them they will have learnt the game more and will be ready to step up.”
Twaddle said the Eagles’ older and experienced heads still needed to step up and help their younger counterparts as they search for a breakthrough victory.
Kangaroos coach Matt Dunn said the belief of winning hadn’t wavered all season but believed their second win in a row has boosted his side as they push closer to a struggling Cobden, who are now just two points away in seventh.
“We have been going into every game confident, but certainly having some wins on the board gives us more confidence knowing that we can get the result,” Dunn said.
“We have stepped up to the plate over the last couple of weeks and again we want to get that (winning) feeling again next week. That’s our next challenge.”
Hamilton have a tough month ahead of them against high ladder teams in South Warrnambool, Koroit and Camperdown. They also play a struggling Portland.
