On Saturday, the Tigers won their second game for the season when they defeated Panmure 49-26.
Merrivale coach Nicole Ferguson said five junior players also play A grade netball each week.
“Being such a young team, our goal at the start of the season was to keep on improving and I think we are doing that,” Ferguson said.
“Tatum Cassidy is an under 15s girl who plays goal keeper and she was outstanding against Panmure.”
Merrivale had to overcome a tardy start, trailing 11-5 at quarter-time, to win the game.
“It took the girls some time to adjust to the wet conditions,” Ferguson said.
“It was great they were able to keep their composure and play so well over the last three quarters.”
In other Warrnambool and district round 10 games, Nirranda defeated Allansford 62-36, with the Blues’ Kate Ryan best on court. At Reid Oval, Timboon Demons were too good for East Warrnambool, winning 78-18, with Hayley Plozza shooting 44 goals.
