Warrnambool police Sergeant Tracie Kelly said the man had matters heard at the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The 28-year-old was arrested after his court hearing as he had an outstanding breaching court order issue.
The man was bailed from the Warrnambool police station about 4pm.
Police officers then intercepted his vehicle at 2.15am Friday in Terang and he was found to have 15 grams of cannabis in his possession.
The man was arrested again, interviewed, charged with possessing cannabis and breaching his bail and then bailed to appear again in court at a later date.
Sergeant Kelly said it was the man's 29th birthday today.
