Firefighters put out blaze in backyard

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze on Grieve Street in Warrnambool on Tuesday afternoon.

Warrnambool Fire Brigade senior station officer Paul Turner said a neighbour alerted the brigade about a small fire in the backyard of a home shortly after 4.30pm.

“We have been called out to a small mulch fire, which has been extinguished,” Mr Turner said.

He said no one was home at the time and the cause of the blaze was not yet known.
