The Warrong-based Van Someren Equestrian Vaulting (VSEV) hosted the two-day competition at the Orford Indoor Arena.
Members of VSEV matched it with the best, with a number of competitors achieving class first placings.
These included wins to Lisa van Someren in intermediate individual female, Montaya Young in preliminary C, Dixie Boekhout in preliminary A, Emerson and Milla Fuss in pairs, Milla Fuss in pre novice individual, Kiara Esh in preliminary B individual, Emerson Fuss in barrel A and Ashley Holmes in athletes with a disability freestyle, compulsory barrel.
Sharyn van Someren from VSEV said the standard of competitors was high.
“We had teams from Melbourne, Horsham and three from South Australia,” she said.
“This is the third year we have hosted the competition and it was the first time we have had competitors from interstate. A lot of those who competed will go on to the nationals in Sydney in October. We were excited to have such quality competitors.”
Equestrian Vaulting involves competitors performing gymnastics and dance on top of a moving horse.
