Thieves break into Warrnambool house, grab keys, steal car

Thieves have broken into a Warrnambool home and grabbed a set of keys before stealing a car. 

Police said a grey 2014 Subaru WRX, registration ABE183, was stolen from a property in McGregors Road sometime between 3:30pm on Thursday and 10:30am Monday.

Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes of Warrnambool CIU said the unknown offender, or offenders, entered the property by forcing open a bedroom window. 

The owner of the property was away for the long weekend. 

Senior Constable Hughes said the vehicle was stolen after the offenders located the keys inside the house. 

A number of unconfirmed items were also stolen. 

Senior Constable Hughes urged the public to keep a look out and be vigilant. 

He said anyone with information should call triple-0.
