Warrnambool mid-courter Sarah O’Keeffe believes young goal shooter Jessica Thwaites is starting to thrive in the shooting circle alongside experienced goaler Amy Wormald.

“She has stepped up and being in there with Amy has helped her a lot,” she said of the 16-year-old after the one-goal victory over Koroit on Satruday.
“She just has a chat to Jess through the game and tells her where to go, which I think she relishes.
“Jess also doesn’t seem pressured, she is just in her own little zone and doesn’t care about the people around her. She could have an opposition player pushing her and she won’t notice them.”
Thwaites and Wormald combined to shot 36 and 31 goals each in the 67-66 victory over the Saints.
“Our shooters shot really well under pressure and especially Jess, who was just bombing them from everywhere in the circle and they were going straight in,” O’Keeffe said.
The Blues’ veteran said they would take confidence out of the win.
“It proves that we can play against some of the top sides,” O’Keeffe said.
