Couch was booked during the Bloods’ 15.12 (102) to 11.15 (81) win over Hamilton Kangaroos at Melville Oval on Saturday.
Terang Mortlake coach Michael Sargeant said Couch, who was cited in the second term, was offered a one-match ban.
The report was the only blight for the Bloods, who evened their win-loss record at 3-3.
Sargeant said Brodie Carroll, who was awarded a medal as part of the reconcilation game celebrations, and Isaac Wareham were two players on the rise.
“Brodie won a lot of clearances and Isaac, with the way it panned out when we were a man down with Couch off, he was on a wing all day and didn’t get a break,” he said.
“He has a massive engine and is clean.”
Colin Garland and Jake Meade were late outs.
Hamilton Kangaroos coach Matt Dunn said his winless side was again in contention, holding a lead in the third term.
“If you compare to last year we were getting blown away and this year we’ve been in every game,” he said.
“With forward entries we’re with (the opposition) or up but we’re not taking our opportunities.”
The Kangaroos’ forward line could receive a boost in coming weeks with the creative Brendan Huf returning via the reserves on Saturday.
Huf, who has returned to the club after a two-year stint with South West outfit Cavendish, kicked two goals and was among the Roos’ best.
Dunn said Huf, who is among the region’s top cricketers, was “pretty elusive and knows how to find a goal”.
