The Warrnambool woman, who turns 101 in July, was one of nearly 2000 people who attended the celebration at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum.
She also sealed a time capsule, which will be opened in 100 years.
It contains an indigenous message stick inscribed with a message of hope, a model train from Warrnambool’s sister city Changchun and a plaque from Miura, Japan.
A copy of The Standard also went into the capsule as well as a Maremma dog collar and a Woollen Mill blanket.
