A man has been hit with a slew of charges after an alleged burglary at a Warrnambool furniture and electrical goods store on Tuesday.

Warrnambool police said the man smashed a window and attempted to steal an item from Radio Rentals in Fairy Street about 6.30am. The man was disturbed and fled the scene.
He was arrested at a nearby address and taken into custody.
A police spokesperson said during the interview process the man assaulted two police members and threw a chair at a wall, causing damage.
He appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, intentionally damaging property and burglary.
The matter was adjourned to June 12. No application was made for bail.
