Here we pick five players from each side who could have a major impact on the outcome.
HAMPDEN:
Luke Crane (Portland)
A dangerous player who will add x-factor to the Bottle Greens' forward line. Small in stature but big in output. Will also play a role as an assistant coach.
Sam Cowling (Warrnambool)
One of the Hampden league's most imposing forwards whose strong contested marking could prove a handful for Bendigo's key defenders. Co-captain for a second time after missing the past two interleague campaigns with injury.
Jarrod Korewha (Koroit)
A former AFL Academy member who has only just turned 20. Agile tall forward who leads the Hampden league goal kicking with 22 goals from five games. Strong in the air and adept at ground level. Making his senior interleague debut.
Jack Williams (Camperdown)
VFL-listed key defender who can set up play from the back line with his classy foot skills. Can also play a shut-down role on a dangerous opposition forward.
Jackson Bell (Warrnambool)
Hampden league's best against South West 12 months ago. A smooth-moving midfielder who enjoys kicking a long goal. A game-changer at his best.
BENDIGO:
Jack Geary (Golden Square)
Five-time BFNL premiership player and multiple Vic Country representative. Running machine, who thrives on interleague footy. The most consistent midfielder in Bendigo footy for the past five years.
Lachlan Sharp (Strathfieldsaye)
After undergoing a knee reconstruction in 2016, the livewire forward returned in 2017 to have one of the best individual seasons in BFNL history. He won the Michelsen Medal for best and fairest in the league and won the Ron Best Medal as the competition's leading goalkicker.
Kieran Strachan (South Bendigo)
Agile ruckman who has made huge improvement in the past three years and is on Essendon's VFL list. Can go forward and clunk marks inside 50.
Rhys Magin (Kyneton)
Former Essendon midfielder makes his BFNL debut after a couple of super seasons with the Kyneton Tigers. A ball magnet who will be an integral part of the BFNL midfield.
Ben McPhee (Eaglehawk)
Midfielder-forward who rarely plays a bad game. Great ball user who has a knack of kicking multiple goals.
